Nissan EV Symposium

Nissan has a great advantage over other car manufacturers if fully electric vehicles are concerned. For over a decade, the Nissan LEAF has not only found its way to many private and fleet owners. The Amsterdam cab service Taxi Electric is also using the LEAF in the region and for transport to Schiphol Airport. Since 2015, public transport service Connexxion uses Nissan vehicles as well, more specifically the eNV200. More than enough reason for Nissan to host an international congress on electric vehicles used in the public domain. Of course no one was better prepared than 2convince to organize this demanding and complex event during the last AutoRAI. More than 150 invites from Holland and abroad were individually picked up at Schiphol Airport and brought over to the various venues in electric Nissan vehicles. For two days, Amsterdam was the center of the world for experts in electric transport. Authoritative speakers from Nissan and the public transport sector shared and exchanged views and experiences. Since practice makes perfect, several driving experiences with the Nissan LEAF and the Nissan eNV200 were included, like a GEO Caching round trip along the Amstel river, the Arena Stadium and the Zuidpark, as well as to an electric canal cruise boat.

Review from the event location Rosarium, Amsterdam:

“During the AutoRAI we hosted on behalf of 2convince a Nissan congress – in partnership with the city of Amsterdam – about sustainability and how the automotive industry responds to this. That fitted in nicely with Rosarium Restaurant, where “green” is an important issue. 150 guests were taken to the RAI in electric cars, although the event location is nearby. We had an electric car in front of the entrance. Everything had been thought of and was organized with this “sustainability” theme in mind. The food (naturally organic) was taken from our own garden and the juices were organic too. All went very well. So much so that you almost did not feel that there were so many people inside. I was very proud to be part of that. If the client is completely satisfied, but I still see some improvements, it can sometimes gnaw. After each event it is not what went well that we discuss, but rather that what can be improved.”

Ames Automotive

We have organized the opening week of the new 20,000 m2 building in Zwijndrecht for car dealer Ames. Thousands of visitors have come to take a look and were entertained by the many activities and promotions in six different business units.

Ames has been a Volkswagen dealership for 65 years, but the group has many other brands too. In Zwijndrecht – along the A16 freeway – at the old location of the Ames Occasion centre, a completely new complex has arisen, comprising the new Occasion centre, VW Commercial Centre, the unique combined service workshop for VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the Service Only workshop , Ames Schadenet and PSB Bedrijfswageninrichting.

2convince was responsible for organizing the opening night for business relations, the open-house days for interested visitors from the entire region and for an abundant staff-party of over 800 people on the last night of the festival week. For this occasion the body shop was transformed into a bustling party-venue including a casino, several bars, a VIP-deck and a large stage on which the Hermes House Band and singer Do performed. That same evening, the Hermes House Band tweeted that they had never before performed at such a special venue!

The Ames staff were surprised by a mobile snack-wall, from which they could take their favorite fried snack. Earlier that day visitors to the open-house were treated to a variety of bites and refreshments presented from classic Volkswagen vans, which gave out hotdogs, ice, popcorn and delicious coffee.

Visitors could write their reactions on post-its and stick them on the cars in the showroom. The most original feedback was rewarded with an iPad. Most important of all, we were rewarded with praising words after this successful opening week.

Nissan Experience

The Nissan Experience at the former airfield of Valkenburg was completely dominated by the Nissan brand including all Innovation and Excitement that goes along with it, like superfast race cars, the awesome GT-R rally versions of the Micra and of course the NISMO editions! The guests were introduced to all existing innovative Nissans like the iconic 240Z, the Figaro, Juke NISMO, the new NOTE and the new all-electric Nissan LEAF.

Every Nissan employee who works in Amsterdam at the Nissan Motor Parts Centre, Nissan Trading or Nissan Netherlands could take up to 4 guests for this special day. Who? That didn’t matter to Nissan! We offered free entrance and of course, we took care of delicious snacks and drinks. Nissan employees could register for the event through a special website. For those who needed them there were special buses going from Amsterdam to Valkenburg.

There was plenty to do in four different ‘areas’. In Hangar 2: from gaming on the PlayStation GT pod to listening to the DJ from the Qashqai DJ, viewing the Red Bull F1 car and the spectacular Nissan DeltaWing Le Mans racer. And of course the inside and outside view of the latest Nissan models such as the new Note, the new Micra and the new LEAF.

Outside, there were plenty of activities on the High Speed Area, the Off Road Area and the Drift & Test Area. People could drive one of the 25 test cars, a 4 × 4 on the specially designed off-road course, do a slalom ride in one of the Micra Rally cars, the Nissan Dakar truck drag, a Nissan forklift or ride with the spectacular Nissan drifters or in one of the rally’s 350Z! The NISMO Lab attracted a lot of attention too. So there was a lot to experience for all ages. Each location had its own ‘hospitality’: comfortable seatings, plenty to eat and drink, WiFi, toilet facilities and first aid – we thought of everything.

The children were also entertained. Children from age 6 were welcome in the Nissan Experience Centre in the indoor Hangaar2, where they were kept busy under professional guidance.

Shortly before the event took place, Nissan Netherlands also decided to make use of the facilities that were originally built only for a day. So one day before the Nissan Experience, an event for 200 business relations of Nissan took place, with more or less the same program.

The total organization of the Nissan Experience was orchestrated by 2convince, including concept, communications, planning and execution. With the help of loyal suppliers in different areas 2convince was able to make the Nissan Experience a successful event in a very efficient and effective way.
